Approximately 40 years ago, Harvey Abernathey started taking photos utilizing a Yashica SLR.

“My passion started even as a young child when I experienced the effect of capturing images with a brownie pinhole camera. As a child, I was enraptured with the fact that you could create an image of time and share it for a lifetime. My parents had family photographs from long before I was born, and I wanted to record history as I saw it. Within the last few years I have been taking professional training to learn how to create the images for something other than my own-recorded history.

It is my pleasure to share some of this experience.

In my earlier days the camera gear I owned was not the same quality as equipment I have now, although the Canon FTB that I retired recently gave me wonderful years of service. Moving over to digital in 2002 presented some challenges in managing the files and photos, but more importantly greater opportunities. I have assembled some of my images for your enjoyment. Check back again for updates.”
